The Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Oshodi-Isolo, Lagos State, has strengthened its grassroots political structure with the commissioning of a new secretariat donated by Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo.

The new facility is expected to serve as an administrative and coordination centre for the organisation as it expands its activities across Oshodi, Isolo and Ejigbo ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The commissioning forms part of a wider effort by the group to deepen its grassroots presence and establish a more permanent organisational structure in one of Lagos’ politically significant local government areas.

The ceremony also featured the inauguration of a newly constituted Chapter Executive Committee, which has been tasked with coordinating the organisation’s activities across the constituency.

The development highlights the increasing importance of grassroots political organisations as Nigeria moves closer to the 2027 elections.

For political movements backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, local structures such as the Renewed Hope Ambassadors are expected to play a role in communicating the administration’s policies, mobilising supporters and sustaining political engagement beyond major rallies.

Oshodi-Isolo has emerged as an important political base for Tinubu’s supporters in Lagos.

Earlier in the year, APC leaders and supporters under the Renewed Hope Ambassadors gathered in the area for a major mobilisation exercise in support of Tinubu’s second-term bid.

At that event, organisers described the movement as a platform for taking the message of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda to communities and voters.

MC Oluomo has also featured prominently in political mobilisation activities in the area.

His involvement gives the new secretariat added political significance, particularly because of his longstanding influence within Lagos grassroots political structures.

The latest development, however, goes beyond symbolism.

A permanent secretariat can provide a physical location for meetings, coordination, membership engagement and planning, allowing the organisation to operate on a more structured basis as political activities intensify.

The newly inaugurated chapter executive committee will also be expected to translate the organisation’s broader political objectives into activities at the local level.

Such structures could become increasingly important as political parties and support groups begin moving from broad declarations of support to detailed grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.

For the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, the Oshodi-Isolo operation provides an avenue to strengthen its organisational footprint in an area covering several densely populated communities.

The group has previously used political gatherings in Oshodi-Isolo to promote Tinubu’s re-election, with its leaders highlighting federal government programmes and policies as reasons for continued support.

The latest secretariat commissioning therefore represents another stage in that mobilisation process.

It also demonstrates how the 2027 political contest is increasingly extending beyond party headquarters and major campaign events into local constituencies, wards and community-level structures.

With the election still ahead, the effectiveness of the new structure will ultimately depend on its ability to maintain grassroots engagement, communicate with residents and translate political support into electoral mobilisation.
