The Imo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has intensified preparations for the 2027 general elections with a strategic meeting involving all 27 Local Government Area chairmen and top party stakeholders.
The meeting, held at the party’s state office in New Owerri, brought together grassroots leaders who collectively reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the party’s structures ahead of the next electoral cycle.
State Chairman, James Okoroma, who presided over the session, said the gathering reflected the ADC’s increasing visibility and internal stability across the state. He explained that the party’s ongoing membership registration and revalidation exercise had significantly boosted its outreach and public acceptability.
Okoroma praised the LGA chairmen for their coordination and maturity during the statewide distribution and return of ward registers, noting that their efforts ensured a peaceful and well-organized process in all communities.
He urged party executives at the ward and LGA levels to prioritize transparency, inclusiveness and sustained mobilization, stressing that the ADC’s long-term growth depends on expanding its grassroots network and attracting new members.
Speaking on behalf of the LGA chairmen, Omah Pius Omah commended the State Working Committee’s leadership, describing it as visionary and people-oriented. He reaffirmed the collective resolve of the chairmen to deepen engagement at the local level and work as a united front to achieve victory for the party in 2027.
The meeting was attended by senior party officials, including members of the State Working Committee and other loyal stakeholders.
