Renowned gospel music minister and worship leader, Ron Kenoly, has died at the age of 81.
News of his passing was confirmed on Tuesday through tributes shared by fellow gospel artistes and ministers across social media, sparking an outpouring of grief and gratitude from the global Christian music community.
Reacting to the development, Nigerian gospel singer and worship leader, Nathaniel Bassey, paid tribute to the late icon, describing him as a major inspiration to generations of psalmists.
“Dr Ron Kenoly crosses to yonder side. Thank you for inspiring generations of psalmists like me,” Bassey wrote on Instagram.
“I grew up on these songs. And today, others are growing up on ours. Thank you sir.”
Ron Kenoly was celebrated worldwide for his powerful congregational worship style and timeless songs that shaped modern praise and worship music. Some of his most popular works include Majesty, Righteousness, Peace and Joy, Anointing, All Honour, and Sing Out, among many others.
