Former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose says President Bola Tinubu remains politically stronger than his major opponents ahead of the 2027 contest.

Former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would defeat opposition figures such as Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi even if the presidential election were conducted multiple times.

Speaking on the political landscape ahead of the next election cycle, Fayose argued that calls for Tinubu to resign were unnecessary, maintaining that the President still has time left in office.

According to him, many of those criticizing the administration are aligned with opposition candidates and are merely seeking an alternative political arrangement rather than offering a fundamentally different direction.

Fayose further insisted that Tinubu’s political experience and determination should not be underestimated. He noted that the President emerged victorious despite not enjoying the backing of then-President Muhammadu Buhari during the 2023 election cycle, suggesting that such political resilience would make it difficult for opponents to unseat him.

His remarks come amid continuing discussions over the shape of opposition politics ahead of 2027, with questions surrounding unity among major opposition figures remaining a recurring issue.

For now, Fayose’s position reflects his belief that the opposition remains divided while Tinubu continues to hold the advantage of incumbency.
