Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo says the 2.5 million votes he pledged for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election will be earned through developmental projects across the state.
Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has declared that the 2.5 million votes his administration pledged to deliver for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election will come through the developmental projects being executed across the state rather than campaign promises.
Speaking during an interview on Politics Today on Channels Television, the governor said visible projects and improved governance would convince Edo residents to support President Tinubu at the polls. He maintained that the growing support for the President was already evident across the state.
Okpebholo also said the President should visit Edo State to commission projects instead of campaigning, insisting that the achievements of his administration would speak for themselves. According to him, the developmental strides recorded in the state have been made possible through the support of the Federal Government under President Tinubu.
The governor’s remarks follow his earlier pledge that Edo State would deliver 2.5 million votes for President Tinubu in the next presidential election. He has consistently linked that projection to ongoing infrastructure and development projects, arguing that governance remains the strongest campaign strategy.
Okpebholo said, “All we do in Edo State is practical governance and the people can see development.” He also invited television presenters Rufai Oseni and Reuben Abati to visit Edo State to inspect projects, expressing confidence that firsthand assessment would demonstrate the progress recorded by his administration.
The governor reiterated that his administration would continue prioritising development across Edo State, maintaining that completed and ongoing projects would remain central to the APC’s campaign message ahead of the 2027 general election.
