Popular Nollywood comedian Olatayo Amokade, known as Ijebu, has called on Big Brother Naija season 10 winner, Imisi, to make peace with her mother and end their ongoing online feud.
In a video posted to his Instagram page on Sunday evening, Ijebu urged the reality star to visit her mother, apologize, and seek reconciliation.
The conflict between Imisi and her mother escalated following her N150 million BBNaija win. During her time on the show, Imisi had shared harrowing experiences from her childhood, revealing that she endured two rapes at age 12 and subsequently had an abortion at 13. She also recounted being sent out of her father’s home at 11 and starting to sell fufu with her grandmother before the family home was destroyed by fire.
Weeks after her victory, Imisi’s mother appeared in a viral video claiming she had been neglected. Imisi, however, pointed to their already strained relationship before her rise to fame, noting her mother’s absence during her difficult years.
“Before BBNaija, you didn’t reach out to me for years. Why is there an issue now?” Imisi said. She further stated on Instagram that she had continued to send financial support, emphasizing her responsibility to support dozens of family members.
Ijebu addressed the controversy directly, emphasizing that Imisi’s mother deserved respect as her “mini god.” He advised: “Imisi, honor your parents as the Bible teaches. Tonight or tomorrow, go to your mother, kneel, hold her legs, and ask for forgiveness. Allow her to pray for you. Regardless of past conflicts, she remains your mini god. After this, I expect no more online arguments or dragging.”
The actor’s message aimed to guide Imisi toward reconciliation and discourage further public disputes, stressing the importance of family and respect.
