Nollywood actress Kemisola Apesin, popularly known as Kemity, has spoken out on the personal circumstances that led to her having two children by two different men, responding to widespread online criticism.

Speaking on the Talk to B podcast hosted by actress Biola Bayo, Kemity shared her story, revealing that her journey into motherhood began while she was still in secondary school.

“I got pregnant while preparing for my Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE),” she explained. “My mother insisted I complete my education before considering marriage.”

According to the actress, she never married the father of her first child, who later died under suspicious circumstances. Kemity disclosed that he returned to Nigeria from Malaysia without notifying anyone and was later found dead in a hotel. Only $300 was recovered from his belongings at the scene.

“We believe the rest of his money was taken before we got there. That’s how I became a widow,” she said.

Kemity also addressed public misconceptions surrounding her second child. She met her second partner while undergoing computer training. The two eventually had a court wedding, but the marriage was short-lived due to infidelity and spiritual interference.

“After I became pregnant, he started seeing other women. He later told me that his Alfa advised him he wouldn’t succeed unless he separated from me,” she recounted. “That’s when I decided to walk away.”

She emphasized that her family situation was never intentional and criticized the public for judging without understanding the full context.

“I didn’t choose this path. Things happened beyond my control,” she said.

Kemity’s remarks come amid ongoing conversations around family, stigma, and the pressures women in the public eye face regarding their personal lives.
