The African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the National Conscience Party (NCP) have announced a formal political alliance aimed at unseating President Bola Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.

At a press briefing on Monday, NCP Lagos State Chairman, Chief Fatai Ibu-Owo, alongside ADC National Secretary and former Interior Minister, Rauf Aregbesola, highlighted Nigeria’s mounting economic and security challenges under the current administration. They pointed to rising inflation, increasing poverty, and the impact of fuel subsidy removal, which has driven fuel prices to historic highs.

Describing the nation’s current state as a “bleeding heart,” the coalition criticized the APC government for failing to protect citizens, citing frequent kidnappings, rural banditry, and violations of civil liberties. They also accused the administration of weakening democratic institutions and suppressing dissenting voices.

The alliance urged Nigerians to participate in grassroots mobilization, support independent media, and engage in community organizing to promote national renewal. They emphasized that momentum is building for a “democratic handover” in 2027, sending a direct warning to President Tinubu and his allies that change is imminent.
