Nigerian billionaire and BUA Group chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has announced a major financial incentive for the Super Eagles as they prepare for their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 semi-final showdown against host nation Morocco.

The pledge follows Nigeria’s 2–0 victory over Algeria in the quarter-finals, a result that booked the Super Eagles a place in the last four of the tournament. Reacting to the win, Rabiu disclosed via his Instagram account that he would reward the team with $500,000 if they overcome Morocco and advance to the final. He also promised an additional $50,000 for every goal scored during the semi-final encounter.

The incentive package extends beyond the semi-final stage. Rabiu stated that if Nigeria go on to lift the AFCON trophy, the team will receive a further $1 million, alongside a bonus of $100,000 for each goal scored in the final.

The combined pledges could see the Super Eagles earn well over $1.5 million in bonuses, underlining the level of private sector support behind the team’s quest for a fourth continental title.

Nigeria and Morocco are set to face off in a highly anticipated semi-final, with both sides seeking a place in the final and a chance to be crowned champions of Africa.
