Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim has broken his silence on Alejandro Garnacho’s imminent departure from Old Trafford, admitting that despite the youngster’s immense potential, a parting of ways has become inevitable.

Garnacho, widely regarded as one of United’s brightest prospects, is set to leave the club this summer. While his talent is undisputed, Amorim confessed that certain dynamics within the squad didn’t align with the Argentine winger’s aspirations.

“Sometimes in football, it’s not about talent,” Amorim told the BBC. “Alejandro is an incredibly gifted player, but occasionally, situations arise where things just don’t work out. I can’t give you a specific reason, but it’s evident he’s looking for a new challenge under different leadership.”

Garnacho’s desire to remain in the Premier League has put Chelsea on high alert. The London club is actively monitoring his situation and considering a move for the 20-year-old, who has expressed interest in staying in English football. Though no formal negotiations have commenced, reliable sources suggest that the Argentine is on Chelsea’s priority list this summer.

Fabrizio Romano, a respected voice in the transfer market, confirmed that while talks have not yet started between Chelsea and Garnacho, the Blues are keeping close tabs on his availability. Garnacho’s name features prominently in Chelsea’s summer transfer strategy as they seek to rejuvenate their attacking options.

Chelsea’s interest is not limited to Garnacho. The club is also in pursuit of Dutch midfielder Xavi Simons, currently plying his trade at German side RB Leipzig. Both Simons and Garnacho are reportedly keen on a move to Stamford Bridge, drawn by the club’s vision and ambitious project.

For Garnacho, a switch to Chelsea could offer the fresh start he seeks, while Manchester United continues its squad reshaping under Amorim. The coming weeks could prove pivotal as Chelsea weigh up formalizing their interest in the Argentine winger.
