The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced a nationwide electronic membership registration exercise, marking a new phase in the party’s efforts to modernise its internal processes and strengthen its grassroots structure.
The development was announced on Wednesday by the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, in a statement shared via his verified X (formerly Twitter) account. According to him, the exercise will be conducted across all wards in the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
Prof. Yilwatda explained that existing party members are required to validate their membership details through the online platform, while prospective members are encouraged to register and formally join the APC.
He noted that the initiative is aimed at improving documentation, enhancing internal organisation, and ensuring broader participation of members in party activities and decision-making processes.
“A credible and comprehensive membership register is fundamental to building a stronger and more united progressive movement,” the APC chairman stated, urging members to fully participate in the exercise.
He added that the e-registration drive presents an opportunity for the party to deepen democratic engagement and reposition itself ahead of future political activities.
