The Bayelsa State Police Command has declared social media influencer Bodmas Kemepadei wanted in connection with the alleged murder of 24-year-old Patrick Peresuodei in the Amassoma/Yenagoa area of the state.
Peresuodei was killed in January 2026 in an incident that sparked protests and widespread public outrage across Bayelsa State. Reports indicated that the case followed a disagreement on Facebook, which later escalated into violence.
The victim’s death prompted a state government investigation, leading to the arrest of several personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps allegedly linked to the incident.
In a statement issued on Sunday, February 22, the Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa State, Iyamah Edebor, confirmed that a warrant of arrest had been issued against Kemepadei by the High Court of Bayelsa State.
According to the police, the suspect is wanted over allegations bordering on conspiracy and murder connected to the death of Peresuodei.
The command provided a physical description of the suspect and disclosed his last known address as ICCH Centre, Tenacious Street, Ede-Epie, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Police authorities urged members of the public with useful information about his whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or contact the Bayelsa State Police Command Headquarters in Yenagoa through official communication channels.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing remains ongoing.
