Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has once again stirred conversation online after revealing that he wouldn’t mind being in an open marriage. The outspoken artist, known for his unfiltered opinions on love and relationships, shared his unconventional views during a recent episode of the In My Opinion podcast.

According to Blaqbonez, whose real name is Emeka Akumefule, many marriages lose their spark over time because couples stop exploring their sexuality or feel restricted by the traditional idea of exclusivity. He believes that allowing freedom within a marriage can help maintain honesty and emotional connection rather than pretending to be “perfectly monogamous.”

“I don’t have a problem with the idea of an open marriage,” he said. “Most couples don’t maintain the same level of intimacy they had in the beginning—it naturally declines. If someone else fulfills my partner’s needs while I’m away performing or working, that’s fine. Marriage should be deeper than sex.”

The rapper explained that physical intimacy shouldn’t define the strength of a marriage. For him, love, trust, and emotional loyalty matter more than sexual exclusivity.

“No random person can easily replace me,” he continued. “It’s not just about sex — it’s the bond, the laughter, and the connection we share. That’s not something anyone can copy.”

Blaqbonez also revealed that if he ever decides to get married, he would prefer a living arrangement that gives both partners space and independence.

“If I marry, I’ll probably have two separate rooms — one for me, one for her. We’ll only meet when we both want to,” he added with a grin.

His comments have reignited debates on social media about modern relationships, fidelity, and whether open marriages can truly work in the long run.
