The Federal Government has directed the immediate shutdown of 47 Federal Unity Colleges nationwide amid rising security concerns.
The decision, communicated through a circular on Friday, cited “heightened security risks in several regions” and emphasized the need to protect students and staff. The directive was approved by the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, and signed on his behalf by Binta Abdulkadir, Director of Senior Secondary Education.
Principals of the affected schools have been instructed to enforce the closure without delay, as authorities move to safeguard the institutions against potential threats.
