The FIFA Club World Cup trophy made a high-profile stop at Trump Tower in Manhattan on Monday, as part of a global promotional tour ahead of the tournament’s final match set to take place at MetLife Stadium on July 13.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino led the unveiling ceremony, accompanied by Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization, and Brazilian football legend Ronaldo. The event marked one of several international appearances for the trophy as it tours the home cities of all 32 participating clubs.
Beginning Tuesday, July 8, the trophy will be on public display inside the Trump Tower Atrium, located at 725 Fifth Avenue, through Friday, July 12. Fans will have the opportunity to view the iconic silverware and take photographs between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily.
Speaking at the ceremony, Infantino hailed the tournament’s global reach and unifying impact.
“Football is a truly global game,” he said. “We’ve had over 2.26 million fans from 168 countries attend matches, with players from 72 nations participating. Every continent has had its moment, with teams scoring goals and securing points. This is what makes this tournament unique.”
He added that the competition not only showcases sporting excellence but also serves as a platform for unity. “Our theme for this year’s tournament is ‘Unite for Peace.’ In today’s challenging times, it’s vital to show the world that football can bring people together.”
Eric Trump expressed gratitude for the collaboration, stating: “We’re proud to host the FIFA Club World Cup trophy here at Trump Tower. It’s a privilege for our organization and for the city of New York.”
Ronaldo, a two-time World Cup winner, praised the tournament’s structure and fan engagement. “I would’ve loved to play in a competition like this during my career. The level of excitement, especially from the fans, has been incredible.”
In addition to the trophy display, Infantino announced the opening of a new FIFA representative office within Trump Tower. This follows the recent launch of FIFA’s Miami hub, which handles legal, compliance, and operational preparations for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“FIFA is a global organization with a growing footprint,” Infantino said. “Establishing a permanent presence in New York ensures we stay connected with one of the world’s major sporting and cultural centers—not just for this year’s event, but for the long-term future.”
He concluded by thanking the Trump family, including President Donald Trump, calling him “a great supporter of the sport.”
