Popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has revealed that her office in Lagos was partially destroyed by a fire outbreak that occurred on the evening of Tuesday, July 8.
The incident, which reportedly began around 7:00 p.m., damaged parts of the building and several valuable items, although no casualties were recorded.
Ojo shared a video of the aftermath on her verified Instagram page, showing the charred remains of office furniture, smoke-stained walls, and debris scattered throughout the stairwell and office premises.
In her caption, the actress thanked the Nigerian Fire Service for their prompt intervention, which she said helped prevent the fire from spreading further. She also praised her staff for their efforts to salvage what they could.
“The fire started around 7 p.m. on the 8th of July, 2025. Thank you to the Nigerian Fire Service and my team for containing the situation. Thankfully, no lives were lost,” she wrote. “We faced a tough test today, but God came through for us.”
The cause of the fire remains unclear at this time. Authorities are yet to confirm whether investigations have been launched into the incident.
Ojo expressed optimism despite the loss, vowing to rebuild. “With God on our side, we will bounce back—bigger and better,” she added.
The incident follows a similar tragedy that struck fellow Nollywood star Mercy Aigbe, whose Lagos residence was gutted by fire in December 2024.
