Former Nickelodeon child actor Kianna Underwood has died after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident in Brooklyn, New York, authorities have confirmed.
Underwood, 33, was fatally injured in the early hours of Friday after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the intersection of Pitkin Avenue and Mother Gaston Boulevard, according to law enforcement sources cited by TMZ.
Police said the vehicle, described as gray, struck Underwood and fled the scene, leaving her critically injured on the roadway. Emergency services received a 911 call at approximately 6:49 a.m., and first responders arrived shortly afterward. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
As of the time of reporting, no arrests have been made and the driver remains at large. The New York Police Department has launched an investigation and is urging anyone with information to come forward.
Underwood rose to prominence as a child actor in the mid-2000s, appearing on Nickelodeon’s sketch comedy series All That as well as the animated children’s programme Little Bill. She later stepped away from television and maintained a largely private life in adulthood.
Her death has sparked renewed calls from community members and advocates for improved pedestrian safety and stronger enforcement against hit-and-run offences in the city.
Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
