Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reiterated that his frequent dancing poses no threat to his effectiveness in office, describing it as a personal hobby that helps him relax.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Adeleke addressed public reactions to his well-known love for dancing, a trait that earned him the nickname “the dancing senator” during his time in the Senate. He made it clear that the pastime does not interfere with his duties as governor.
“Everyone has a way of unwinding. Dancing is mine, and it doesn’t affect the work I do,” he said during the interview, noting that he also uses it as a way of expressing gratitude to God.
Adeleke’s remarks come a day after he resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and defected to the Accord Party ahead of the 2026 Osun governorship election. On Wednesday, the Accord Party officially presented him with its governorship ticket during its primary election in Osogbo.
