Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has reacted to allegations that he was blacklisted by top figures in the music industry.

The claims were made by influencer Tunde Perry, who alleged that some music executives had taken the decision following what he described as the singer’s repeated misconduct. Perry further claimed that Portable’s actions had influenced how established artists and executives approach emerging talents.

He also alleged that rapper and music executive Olamide had become reluctant to support up-and-coming artists after his experience with Portable, whom he previously featured on the breakout track “Zazu.”

Responding in a video shared on social media, Portable dismissed the allegations and criticised those behind the claims. He maintained that he does not rely on any executive or promoter for his success, insisting that his fan base is sufficient to sustain his career.

The singer declared that he remains a major force in the industry and warned critics against attempting to undermine him. He also addressed Olamide directly, cautioning against what he described as unnecessary conflict.

Portable rose to prominence in 2021 with “Zazu,” which featured Olamide and dancer Poco Lee. Since then, he has remained a controversial figure in Nigeria’s entertainment scene, frequently making headlines for his outspoken remarks and public disputes.

Neither Olamide nor any music executive has publicly confirmed the alleged blacklisting.
