Prof. Iyabo Obasanjo, daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State.
The development was confirmed on Wednesday by a former Chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government Area, Biodun Ajayi, who is also a close associate of Obasanjo.
Ajayi disclosed that her registration process had been successfully concluded, noting that she completed her e-registration on Tuesday at Ibogun, Ward 11, in Ifo Local Government Area of the state.
“I can confirm to you that Prof. Iyabo Obasanjo completed her online registration as a member of our great party, the APC, on Tuesday at Ibogun Ward 11 in Ifo Local Government,” Ajayi told Vanguard.
Her move marks a notable political development in Ogun State, given her family’s long-standing influence in Nigeria’s political landscape.
