Bello-Suru, in his acceptance speech, pledged to rebuild the unity of the PDP and lead the party back to prominence. Several officials retained their positions during the exercise, including Hussaini Abdullahi-Raha as Deputy Chairman, Abubakar Bawa-Kalgo as Secretary, and Haruna Mai-Jega as Vice Chairman for the Central Zone. The re-election of these leaders, observers say, is intended to provide stability as the PDP works to rebuild its influence across the state.
Amid speculation of possible defections to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the Kebbi PDP has moved quickly to assure members of its cohesion. Bello-Suru dismissed rumors of disunity, insisting the party remains “one indivisible entity” and will continue to stand firm as a strong opposition across all 21 local government areas. He urged members to remain calm and steadfast, adding that the leadership is closely monitoring the political environment ahead of 2027.
