Sporting Lisbon is closing in on the signing of Colombian striker Luis Javier Suárez from Almeria, while Manchester City gears up for a high-stakes bid for FC Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa.

According to trusted transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano, negotiations between Sporting CP and Almeria have gained significant momentum in recent hours. The two clubs are reportedly finalizing the terms of the deal, with a full agreement expected to be reached this week. Suárez, 27, is seen as a key addition to Sporting’s attack ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Meanwhile, Manchester City is preparing a substantial €60 million offer—add-ons included—for Portuguese international goalkeeper Diogo Costa. The Premier League champions are seeking to reinforce their squad following a narrow miss in the title race last season. Their current No.1, Ederson, has been linked with a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray, prompting City to explore high-caliber replacements.

Costa, who has been a standout performer for Porto, is also attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain. The French champions are reportedly ready to compete with City for the 24-year-old shot-stopper, setting the stage for a potential transfer battle between two of Europe’s football powerhouses.

With Pep Guardiola aiming to fortify his squad on multiple fronts, both deals—Suárez to Sporting and Costa to City—could mark pivotal moments in the summer transfer window.
