Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has reportedly been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force over allegations of cyberbullying involving her colleague, Mercy Johnson.

According to reports, Okorie was arrested at her residence in Lagos on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, by officers from the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre, Abuja.

The development was disclosed on Wednesday by entertainment journalist and BON Awards founder, Seun Oloketuyi. He stated that the actress was initially detained at the Yaba Police Station, popularly known as Panti, where she spent the night before being flown to Abuja in the early hours of Wednesday.

In a post shared on his Instagram page, Oloketuyi wrote that Okorie was transported to the Federal Capital Territory around 6 a.m. to face legal proceedings related to an alleged cybercrime case linked to Mercy Johnson.

The reported arrest comes barely a week after Mercy Johnson publicly warned that cyberbullying directed at her and her family would no longer be tolerated in 2026.

As of the time of filing this report, neither Angela Okorie nor Mercy Johnson has officially commented on the matter.
