Veteran forward becomes first to score multiple goals in four straight regular-season matches
Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi has written his name into the Major League Soccer (MLS) record books once again after scoring twice in his side’s 2–0 win over New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium early Thursday morning.
The 38-year-old netted both goals in the first half, leading his team to a decisive away victory and continuing his impressive run of form in the league.
With the latest brace, Messi becomes the first player in MLS history to score two or more goals in four consecutive regular-season games.
The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star joined Inter Miami as a free agent after leaving PSG. Since his arrival, he has continued to set records and raise performance standards in the league.
Inter Miami will now turn their focus to their next match against Nashville on Sunday, with Messi expected to lead the charge once again.
