Álvaro Morata is set to join Italian Serie A newcomers Como following Galatasaray’s successful agreement to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli in a major transfer development.
Sources close to the negotiations confirmed that Morata’s departure had been delayed for several weeks, pending Galatasaray’s finalization of the Osimhen deal. The Turkish champions have now reportedly reached full agreement with Napoli, removing the last obstacle in the Spaniard’s transfer.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that once all formal documents for Osimhen’s move are completed, Morata will officially become a Como player. The former Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid forward has already agreed personal terms with the Italian club.
“Morata has been waiting for the green light for over a month,” Romano posted via X (formerly Twitter). “All parties are now aligned, and the move to Como is imminent.”
Morata, who previously featured in Serie A during spells with Juventus and AC Milan, will return to Italy after a brief stint in the Turkish Super Lig.
Meanwhile, Galatasaray’s acquisition of Victor Osimhen marks a significant statement of intent by the Istanbul side, as they aim to strengthen their attacking lineup ahead of the new season. The Nigerian international, who lit up Serie A with Napoli, is expected to be unveiled next week once medicals and paperwork are completed.
