The Naira recorded its first appreciation this week against the United States dollar at Nigeria’s official foreign exchange market on Thursday, signaling a slight recovery after days of depreciation.

Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria showed that the Naira strengthened to N1,441.44 per dollar on Thursday, up from N1,443.08 recorded on Wednesday, representing a daily gain of N1.64.

At the parallel market, the Naira remained unchanged at N1,465 per dollar, maintaining the same rate as the previous day. The local currency had mostly experienced a bearish trend earlier in the week, with Wednesday marking the largest decline.

The apex bank’s foreign reserves continued to rise, reaching $43.42 billion as of November 12, 2025, up slightly from $43.39 billion the previous day.
