Napoli has turned down a €75 million bid from Galatasaray for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, despite the offer matching the forward’s official release clause, according to reports from Nigerian journalist Onyebuchi Onokala, popularly known as Buchi Laba.

Galatasaray, who have made Osimhen their top summer target, submitted a third formal offer to the Serie A club in a renewed attempt to secure the 26-year-old on a permanent deal. The latest proposal met the release fee embedded in the player’s contract — reportedly valued at €75 million (approx. ₦135 billion).

However, Napoli rejected the offer, raising questions over the club’s willingness to release the player at all.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) early Thursday, Buchi Laba wrote: “Napoli officially turns down Galatasaray’s €75 million third offer for Victor Osimhen. That is the official release clause.”

Sources close to the player suggest the Serie A champions may be stalling negotiations to redirect Osimhen toward a more lucrative deal with Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal. But the striker, who has consistently expressed his preference for Galatasaray, has ruled out a move to the Middle East.

The Super Eagles star has reportedly informed Napoli’s management that he will not report for pre-season training, signaling his desire to leave the club and his unwillingness to feature under new head coach Antonio Conte.

Osimhen joined Napoli in 2020 and was instrumental in the club’s 2022/2023 Serie A title win. His future now remains uncertain as tensions grow between player and club amid transfer wrangling.
