The Nigeria Police Force has refuted a viral Wanted Person Bulletin circulating online that falsely claimed Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo was wanted by the Inspector-General of Police Monitoring Unit. In a statement released on Thursday, the Force emphasized that the publication is fake and unofficial, and it did not originate from any police authority.

Authorities warned that such misinformation can cause unnecessary panic and damage the reputations of public figures. They urged Nigerians to always confirm security-related news through verified police channels before sharing or acting on it. “The Nigeria Police Force wishes to clarify that the recent Wanted Person Bulletin suggesting that Iyabo Ojo is wanted by the Office of the IGP Monitoring Unit is not authentic. We advise members of the public to verify information through official channels and remain cautious of false reports,” the statement read.

The viral fake bulletin had sparked confusion and outrage online, with many questioning its credibility. This clarification underscores growing concerns over the spread of forged documents and false press statements intended to mislead the public and tarnish the image of high-profile individuals.

As social media continues to amplify unverified claims, the police are calling on the public to exercise caution and rely solely on official communications for accurate information regarding law enforcement actions.
