The NDC aspirant said Kenneth Okonkwo falsely claimed he accused Peter Obi of demanding money from House of Representatives aspirants.

Ogbunike Ohaegbu has denied allegations that he accused Peter Obi of demanding financial contributions from aspirants seeking tickets under the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC.

Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television, Ohaegbu said actor-turned-politician Kenneth Okonkwo misrepresented his position concerning the party’s primaries and allegations of fraud.

“Kenneth Okonkwo lied. I never told him that Peter Obi asked us to contribute ₦10 million each to fund his 2027 presidential campaign,” Ohaegbu stated.

The clarification follows ongoing political discussions surrounding the NDC primaries and internal claims linked to campaign financing ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The development adds another layer to conversations around transparency and internal party processes as political alignments continue to evolve ahead of the next electoral cycle.

No additional statement from Kenneth Okonkwo was included in the material available at the time of reporting.
