Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, is set to be officially declared the Accord Party’s candidate for the 2026 governorship election, party officials have confirmed.

The announcement will be made during the Accord Party’s governorship primary today, Wednesday, December 10, 2025, in Osogbo. Pastor Victor Akande, Chairman of the Osun State Accord Party, disclosed that Adeleke is the party’s sole candidate for the election.

“Governor Ademola Adeleke is our sole candidate for the 2026 governorship election. We are declaring him today,” Akande said. “The delegates, five from each of the 30 local government areas in the state, will participate in the formal process.”

Governor Adeleke formally joined the Accord Party on November 6, 2025, following weeks of consultations with stakeholders and opinion leaders across the state. The move was publicly announced on Tuesday, signaling the start of his campaign for re-election.

Speaking at a ceremony in the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Osogbo, Adeleke emphasized the party’s alignment with his administration’s policies and commitment to inclusive governance.

This development solidifies Adeleke’s position as the Accord Party’s flagbearer, ahead of the 2026 governorship contest in Osun State.
