AS Monaco midfielder Paul Pogba has expressed strong support for Marcus Rashford’s transfer to FC Barcelona, describing the England international’s departure as a significant blow to Manchester United.
Rashford’s season-long loan to the Spanish giants has been officially confirmed, with all necessary documentation finalized between the clubs. The forward has already landed in Spain and is undergoing his medical at the Camp Nou.
According to sources close to the deal, Rashford accepted a 15% wage reduction to facilitate the move. Barcelona will cover his €14 million gross salary—equivalent to €7 million net—and retain a €30 million buy option, valid until June 2026.
Reacting to the move, Pogba told popular U.S. streamer IShowSpeed, “That’s crazy. I’m happy for him. Manchester United is losing a great player! That’s great for Barcelona.”
The 31-year-old French midfielder, who shared the Old Trafford dressing room with Rashford during his United tenure, believes the switch presents a fresh opportunity for the England attacker to rediscover form and confidence.
Rashford’s departure marks another major change in Manchester United’s squad as the club continues its summer overhaul under new management. Meanwhile, Barcelona continues to strengthen their attacking options as they aim to defend their La Liga crown and push for European success.
