Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and Delta North Senatorial District lawmaker Ned Nwoko have become embroiled in a bitter public dispute, as allegations of drug use, harassment, and marital tension dominate headlines. The confrontation escalated after Nwoko accused Daniels’ brother, Sammy, of repeatedly harassing his children and domestic staff, while also alleging that Sammy played a role in introducing Daniels to drugs and sabotaging her rehabilitation.

According to the senator, he had financially supported Sammy for the past two years, covering university fees at the University of Ekpoma, purchasing musical instruments, and providing an apartment in Abuja. He also revealed that he transferred roughly ₦125 million to Daniels’ mother during that period. Nwoko shared videos on social media showing Sammy allegedly entering his home and creating disturbances, often disregarding instructions intended to protect Daniels during her recovery.

The lawmaker recounted an incident in which Sammy reportedly arrived at his residence at 4 a.m., demanding a confrontation after being asked to remove a guest. Nwoko insisted that law enforcement was necessary to handle the situation, emphasizing that Sammy “needs professional rehabilitation and guidance rather than sympathy.” He also denied claims that anyone was physically harmed, calling a widely circulated video “a staged Nollywood scenario filmed in my absence.”

Responding on Instagram, Daniels acknowledged her past drug use but rejected Nwoko’s allegations as exaggerated and manipulative. She insisted that her substance use was not the cause of their marital problems and accused Nwoko of using it to create a media spectacle and distract from the real issues between them.

Daniels further alleged that Nwoko sought to isolate her from family and friends, and even encouraged her drug use for his own satisfaction, saying he preferred her “wild and romantic” when intoxicated. She also claimed he subjected her to sexual assault, confinement, and forced medical treatments, including the administration of sedatives and seizure of her phones whenever she spoke to her family.

She denied ever behaving incoherently or losing control, urging the public not to accept the narrative that her actions were erratic due to drug use. Daniels also stated there was no legal marriage between them, adding that her time with Nwoko cost her prime years, personal energy, and career opportunities.

The feud comes after weeks of media reports highlighting marital tension, with previous allegations of domestic violence against Nwoko. The senator, however, has maintained that Daniels’ alleged substance abuse was the main strain on their marriage and has emphasized the need for rehabilitation.

Meanwhile, Daniels’ brother Sammy was arrested in Lagos, transferred to Abuja, arraigned in court, and remanded pending bail. Amid the ongoing controversy, Daniels celebrated the reconciliation of her estranged parents, who reunited following the family crisis.

In emotional videos shared online, Daniels expressed fear and anxiety over her brother’s safety, prompting widespread concern among fans and the public. Social media users, family members, and fellow entertainers have called for calm and urged both parties to resolve the dispute peacefully, hoping for de-escalation in the midst of the highly publicized feud.
