The Regional Leader of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has expressed strong concern over Nigeria’s political leadership structure, arguing that having both President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima as Muslims reflects deep political exclusion of Christians.
Rev. Dachomo made the remarks during an interview on Channels Television’s. His comments were in response to questions on allegations of systemic attacks and insecurity targeting Christian communities in the country.
According to him, the composition of the presidency raises serious questions about religious representation. He asserted that Vice President Shettima should be removed to address what he described as imbalance and a potential threat to national cohesion.
The cleric further alleged that a wider agenda exists to extend Islamic influence nationwide. He urged Christians not to be complacent, emphasizing the need for vigilance and steadfastness in their faith.
Rev. Dachomo also referenced recent unrest in parts of the North, claiming that some incidents were being misclassified as reprisal attacks. He warned that such narratives risk concealing broader motives and could undermine efforts to address insecurity.
The COCIN leader cautioned that inaction would endanger future generations, stressing that the federal government must prioritize the input of individuals capable of confronting what he believes are escalating security challenges.
