Actor and singer Maya Hawke has married musician Christian Lee Hutson in a surprise Valentine’s Day wedding held in New York City.
The 27-year-old Stranger Things star and the 35-year-old singer exchanged vows on Saturday, February 14, during an intimate ceremony attended by close family and friends. Among the guests were Hawke’s parents, actors Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, as well as several of her Stranger Things co-stars, including Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton and Joe Keery.
The couple wed at St George’s Episcopal Church in New York City. Hawke wore a white gown paired with an oversized feathery winter coat, while Hutson opted for a classic black tuxedo. Thurman attended in a light blue gown, and Ethan Hawke wore a black suit for the occasion.
Hawke is the daughter of Ethan Hawke and Thurman, who were married from 1998 to 2005 and share two children, Maya and Levon Roan Thurman-Hawke. Levon was also present at the ceremony. The actress maintains close ties with both parents, who have frequently supported her career.
Hutson had previously confirmed their engagement during an interview last year, referring to Hawke as his “fiancée.” Shortly afterward, she was photographed wearing a diamond ring in Manhattan, fuelling speculation about wedding plans.
The pair made their red carpet debut earlier this year at the Broadway opening of John Proctor Is the Villain in New York City and were later seen together at Milan Fashion Week during the Prada Fall/Winter 2025 show.
Hawke and Hutson first met while collaborating on music. The singer contributed to Hawke’s 2024 album, Chaos Angel, and previously toured as an opening act for Phoebe Bridgers between 2022 and 2023.
In past interviews, Hawke has spoken about the benefits of dating someone she considers a close friend, describing the experience as grounding and deeply supportive.
The couple has not yet publicly shared additional details from the ceremony.
