Nigerian music icons Tiwa Savage and Yemi Alade have publicly ended a seven-year-long dispute, rekindling their friendship during the “The Price of Being Her” panel organized by Entertainment Week Africa in Lagos on Thursday.

The tension between the two stars erupted years ago on social media after Alade criticized female entertainers for allegedly using cosmetic enhancements to amplify their curves. Savage had recently shared images emphasizing her figure, prompting Alade’s remarks. Savage responded at the time, warning against provoking a conflict she could not handle.

During Thursday’s panel, Alade acknowledged Savage’s influence on women, saying, “When you stand firm and pursue what you truly want, you inspire countless women. Keep being yourself; you are walking in strength.”

Savage was visibly emotional, and footage from the event captured the two sharing a heartfelt hug, marking the official reconciliation and putting an end to years of public tension.
