A truck loaded with tomatoes crashed into multiple vehicles on Otedola Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Thursday afternoon after reportedly suffering brake failure.
The accident occurred around noon, according to eyewitnesses, when the truck lost control while approaching the bridge and veered into moving traffic. Several vehicles were damaged in the incident, causing temporary disruption to traffic flow in the area.
No deaths were recorded, and occupants of the affected vehicles, including a family traveling in one of the cars, were said to have escaped without life-threatening injuries.
An eyewitness said the truck suddenly swerved before ramming into vehicles on the bridge, prompting panic among motorists. Emergency responders and traffic officials were later seen at the scene to manage the situation and clear the wreckage.
Authorities have yet to release an official statement on the incident, but investigations are expected to determine the exact cause of the crash.
