Troops of Sector 2 of the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have intercepted two pickup vans suspected to be conveying logistics supplies for the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Yobe State.

The interception followed credible human intelligence indicating the movement of the items from Dapchi through the Magumeri axis, a known transit corridor frequently monitored by security forces.

Security sources disclosed that the vehicles were stopped during a coordinated operation, leading to the arrest of the drivers, who were taken into custody for further interrogation.

Items recovered from the vehicles included 31 spare tyres, 23 spare rims, two bicycles, 12 ignition keys, three alternators, two bags of flour, one mattress, five bags of charcoal, 34 tubers of yam, two blankets, nylon bags containing garri, adult and children’s clothing, a power bank, six mobile phones, and a cash sum of ₦92,600.

The vehicles and recovered items are currently in military custody, while investigations are ongoing to establish the suspects’ roles and possible links to ISWAP logistics and supply networks.

Troops in the sector reaffirmed their commitment to disrupting the flow of supplies to terrorist groups and sustaining pressure on criminal elements within their area of responsibility.
