The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the full rollout of its Digital Certificate Services System, known as WAEC DigiCert, across its five member countries.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Head of Public Affairs at WAEC Headquarters in Accra, Ghana, Demianus Ojijeogu, on behalf of the Registrar.

The affected member states include Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

According to WAEC, the DigiCert platform is both a mobile and web-based application designed to provide candidates and other stakeholders with secure access to digital versions of original certificates.

Ojijeogu said the system enables users to access, request, confirm and securely share digital copies of their certificates with institutions and organisations worldwide.

He added that the platform also allows candidates to recover lost examination numbers while ensuring authenticity and reducing the delays associated with manual certificate processing.

WAEC assured that the introduction of the digital service would not affect the printing and issuance of physical certificates. The council urged candidates and stakeholders to download the mobile application or visit its official website and social media channels for further details.
