Popular Nigerian comedian, Klint Da Drunk, has opened up on the moment he realised music was not his calling, prompting his switch to comedy.

Speaking in an interview with Naija FM Lagos, Klint revealed that he began his entertainment journey as a musician while studying at the Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Enugu. However, his aspirations changed after witnessing music icon 2Face Idibia perform at a campus event.

According to him, 2Face’s exceptional performance made him rethink his path.

“I used to be a musician until 2Face got admitted to IMT. One day, he performed on stage and after hearing just two lines from him, I quietly left,” Klint recalled. “The organisers begged me to stay and perform after him but I knew then that music wasn’t for me. I didn’t realise our styles were different. If I had known, I might have continued. But thank God I chose comedy—I like where I am.”

Klint Da Drunk, who once co-founded a music group with rapper Mr Raw, also featured in the hit track ‘Obodo’. Their group placed second in the 2002 Star Quest talent show.

He has since gone on to build a successful comedy career and has appeared in several Nollywood films, including ‘Men On The Run’, ‘Madam 10/10’, ‘Fast Cash’, and ‘Lost Kingdom’.
