Nigerian social media activist Vincent Otse Martins, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has announced his renewed commitment to the justice campaign surrounding the death of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad.

In a video shared via Instagram, the controversial online figure stated that his decision to reengage with the case is fueled by his increased social influence and financial stability. According to him, these factors now place him in a stronger position to pursue the matter effectively.

“Unlike before, I now have more followers, more money, and a stronger voice. This is the right time to take action,” he said.

Addressing public criticism that accuses him of leveraging the campaign for fame or content monetization, VeryDarkMan denied any such motives. He disclosed that he has already spent nearly ₦3 million in connection with the case, including providing ₦300,000 to Mohbad’s former driver, whom he also promised employment support due to his difficult living conditions.

He further revealed that he has offered financial help to Primeboy, a close associate of the late singer, whose music career has suffered following public backlash related to the case.

“People think the case is over, but it’s not. Justice will be served. It may take time, but we are moving step by step,” he stated.

The activist also declared that his online following, referred to as “The Ratel Movement,” is now a formidable force capable of influencing national conversations, making this a strategic time to revisit the high-profile case.

Mohbad, a fast-rising star in Nigeria’s music scene, died under controversial circumstances in 2023, sparking widespread outrage and calls for a thorough investigation. While public attention around the case has waned in recent months, VeryDarkMan’s renewed efforts appear poised to bring it back into the spotlight.
