Aisha Buhari has officially concluded her 4 months and 10 days period of mourning (Iddah) following the death of her husband, former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on July 13, 2025, in London at the age of 82.
Her daughter, Zahra Buhari-Indimi, took to Instagram on Tuesday, November 18, to mark the end of the mourning period and celebrate her mother’s resilience and faith during this difficult time. Zahra described her mother’s observance of Iddah as one carried out with patience, dignity, and unwavering belief in Allah’s decree.
In her post, Zahra prayed for her mother’s peace and well-being, asking God to ease her steps into the next chapter of her life and surround her with mercy and tranquility. She also invoked blessings of strength, clarity, and continued barakah for the former First Lady.
“Today marks the completion of her 4 months and 10 days of Iddah, a period she observed with patience, dignity, and deep faith in Allah’s decree,” Zahra wrote.
She added, “May Almighty Allah heal her heart, guide her steps into this new chapter, and bless her with a future filled with strength, clarity, and endless blessings. May the soul of Late President Muhammadu Buhari rest in Aljanatul Firdausi. Amen.”
