Former Osun State Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola and former Deputy Governor Iyiola Omisore have thrown their weight behind Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
Oyinlola, who is leading a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, declared support for Oyebamiji alongside members of his political structure.
The endorsement represents a significant political development ahead of the poll, particularly given Oyinlola’s history in Osun politics and Omisore’s previous role as deputy governor of the state.
Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, is challenging incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke and other candidates in the election.
The APC candidate has welcomed the support, expressing appreciation to Oyinlola and those who backed his candidacy.
The endorsement comes as political parties intensify their final mobilisation efforts ahead of Saturday’s election, with competing camps seeking to consolidate support across the state.
