The father of Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has attracted attention after appearing at a polling unit in Osun State during the ongoing governorship election.

Deji Adeleke was seen at a polling unit on Saturday as residents across the state participated in the election.

Photographs of the billionaire businessman at the polling location circulated online, with social media users reacting to his relatively low-key appearance.

One of the posts shared online described him as “the 001 of the Adeleke Dynasty” while announcing his arrival at the polling unit.

The appearance comes as the Adeleke family remains closely associated with the Osun political contest. Governor Ademola Adeleke, Deji Adeleke’s brother, is seeking another term in office under the Accord Party.

Davido has also been actively involved in the election conversation, publicly expressing support for his uncle and raising concerns about the conduct of the poll.

The singer had earlier called for international attention to the Osun election and subsequently questioned delays in uploading results to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s IReV portal.

The 2026 Osun governorship election is being closely watched as voting, counting and the collation of results continue across the state.
