Social commentator Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has raised questions about alleged financial crime and money-laundering practices in Nigeria during his appearance at the 2026 Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
VeryDarkMan participated as a panellist at the conference, where discussions centred on insecurity and the experiences of Nigerians affected by violence. He said he was invited to share his personal experiences rather than to lecture lawyers on legal matters.
During his intervention, the activist used the movement and ownership of cattle as an example while questioning how illicit wealth could allegedly be moved or concealed through seemingly legitimate economic activities.
His remarks formed part of a wider discussion about insecurity, corruption, financial accountability and institutional weaknesses in Nigeria.
However, VeryDarkMan’s assertion that cattle are being used for money laundering should not be presented as an established fact.
