Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has accused those in power of taking control of Nigeria’s political and economic affairs at the expense of ordinary citizens.
Speaking ahead of the 2027 presidential election, Atiku said Nigerians were facing the consequences of a political system in which the interests of the people had allegedly been pushed aside.
He described the coming election as an opportunity for Nigerians to challenge what he sees as the concentration of political and economic power in the hands of a few.
Atiku has increasingly positioned his 2027 campaign around economic hardship, governance and what he describes as the need to restore accountability to public institutions.
His latest remarks come amid growing political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential contest, with opposition parties intensifying criticism of the Tinubu administration.
The former vice president is expected to continue using the campaign period to present his alternative economic and governance agenda to Nigerians.
