The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for candidates with outstanding admission offers from 2021 to 2026 to either accept or reject their offers.
The new deadline is Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
JAMB had initially set August 31 as the deadline for affected candidates to make a decision on their outstanding admission offers.
The board announced the extension through its Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, in a statement posted on Saturday.
JAMB described the new deadline as a final opportunity for candidates who have not yet accepted or rejected their outstanding offers.
The extension applies to candidates with pending regular or Centralised University Information and Admission (CUIIA) offers within the affected admission years.
The board urged candidates not to wait until the final day before completing the process.
According to JAMB, candidates who fail to indicate whether they wish to accept or reject their offers before the new deadline risk having their outstanding admission status affected.
The extension provides candidates who may have overlooked their previous offers with additional time to regularise their admission decisions.
JAMB’s announcement is particularly important for candidates who have carried admission offers from previous admission cycles without formally responding to them.
