Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has admitted that he is disappointed that the club has yet to offer him a new contract, but insists he remains committed to giving his best while he remains at Anfield.
The Argentina international acknowledged that the situation has affected him emotionally but said he would continue to give maximum effort until his time at the club comes to an end.
“It makes me sad to see I didn’t get a new deal. But there is still time,” Mac Allister said.
The midfielder also revealed that there had been opportunities for him to leave Liverpool during the summer transfer window.
“There were options to leave this summer,” he said, while making clear that his current preference remains to stay at the club.
“Right now I feel I’m in the right club,” Mac Allister added.
He also promised to continue giving everything for Liverpool, saying: “I will give 100% until the last day I am here.”
Mac Allister’s comments come amid growing attention over his contractual situation at Liverpool.
Reports confirmed that the midfielder has been disappointed by the absence of a new contract offer, although he remains committed to the club for the time being.
The Argentine has established himself as an important member of Liverpool’s midfield since joining the club and remains a key figure in the team’s plans.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his long-term future, his latest comments suggest that he is not allowing the situation to affect his professionalism.
For now, Mac Allister says his focus remains on performing for Liverpool while leaving his long-term contractual situation to be resolved in due course.
