The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has confirmed that the deadline for uploading the registration data of prospective Nigerian pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj exercise is September 26, 2026.
The deadline is linked to the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s Nusuk Masar platform, through which the relevant data of intending pilgrims must be uploaded within the prescribed timeframe.
The development comes after Saudi Arabia declined Nigeria’s request for an increase in its approved Hajj allocation.
Nigeria’s 50,000-Slot Allocation
According to NAHCON, Nigeria’s approved allocation for the 2027 pilgrimage remains 50,000 slots.
The quota consists of:
- 35,000 slots for government pilgrims through the states and the Federal Capital Territory.
- 15,000 slots for licensed private Hajj tour operators.
The commission said Saudi authorities had declined Nigeria’s request for an upward review of the allocation, citing operational and capacity considerations.
Registration and Digital Upload Deadline
NAHCON has urged state pilgrim boards, licensed tour operators and other relevant stakeholders to comply with the deadline for uploading prospective pilgrims’ data.
The commission said the September 26 deadline is determined by the Saudi authorities and that it does not have the power to extend the deadline.
The time-sensitive nature of the Nusuk Masar platform means that registration and data-upload requirements must be completed within the approved period.
Implications for Intending Pilgrims
The unchanged allocation means that demand for Hajj slots will continue to be managed within the quota approved for Nigeria.
NAHCON has encouraged intending pilgrims to verify their registration status and ensure that their relevant details have been successfully uploaded through the appropriate channels.
The commission has also opened registration for the 2028 Hajj exercise for those unable to secure a slot for the upcoming pilgrimage.
