Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has announced that he will personally launch and lead the campaign for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in the Federal Capital Territory.
Wike made the declaration on Friday while speaking to journalists after inspecting the ongoing dualisation of Phase II of the Kuje-Gwagwalada road, a project intended to connect Kuje Area Council directly to Gwagwalada.
The minister said preparations by the coalition of political parties supporting Tinubu’s re-election were in place, adding that both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the President were ready to commence the campaign in the FCT.
Wike Outlines FCT Campaign Plans
The minister’s declaration places him at the centre of the planned mobilisation effort in the nation’s capital.
Wike’s political position has attracted attention because he remains associated with the Peoples Democratic Party while publicly supporting Tinubu’s re-election bid through the Rainbow Coalition.
His latest statement adds to the discussion over the political arrangements surrounding Tinubu’s support base ahead of the 2027 election.
