The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the full restoration of its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) after a temporary disruption that lasted approximately 96 hours.
The board said the platform was restored on Sunday, September 27, 2026, and is now fully operational for candidates, tertiary institutions and other stakeholders involved in the 2026/2027 admission exercise.
JAMB also reaffirmed October 31, 2026, as the deadline for concluding admissions into public universities, urging institutions to accelerate their processes to recover time lost during the disruption.
CAPS Returns to Full Operation
CAPS is the platform through which JAMB coordinates and processes admissions into Nigerian tertiary institutions.
The system enables institutions to process admission recommendations and allows candidates to monitor and respond to admission offers.
Its temporary unavailability disrupted access to the admission platform, prompting concerns about delays as institutions worked towards the approved deadlines.
JAMB apologised for the inconvenience caused and called on institutions to resume or intensify their admission activities following the restoration.
October 31 Deadline Remains in Place
The board maintained that public universities must conclude their admissions by October 31, 2026.
The deadline means institutions have a limited period to process outstanding applications, review candidates’ eligibility and complete the necessary admission procedures.
JAMB urged institutions to make up for the time lost during the outage rather than allow the disruption to undermine the agreed admission timetable.
